RESIDENT RATES:

Applying for Residency is an option for those creative, spiritual, or otherwise community-minded folk wishing to reside at Kulana for a minimum of six months after an initial six-week period as a Visitor here, during which we--and you--assess the "fit"!

SINGLE INDIVIDUAL:

INDOOR SPACE: $450 per month--single adult in a private cabin or room.

CAMPING: $350 per month--single adult camper (with access to main house kitchen/library/bathrooms).

THOSE SHARING A SPACE:

INDOOR SPACE: $275 per month per person--2 or more adults choosing to share cabin or room.

CAMPING: $200 per month per person--2 or more adults choosing to share a tent (with access to main house).

CHILDREN:

$100 per month per child--children up to 12 years old; adult rates apply to 13 and over.

(Please note: as our community space and individual spaces are modestly-sized, we are not set up to welcome large families as Residents here.)

$600 refundable Security Deposit required of each single adult Resident (or adult Resident with child);

$700 refundable Security Deposit for adult couple sharing space.

Please Note:

•  Visitors wishing to apply for residency enjoy 6 consecutive, well-working weeks under the consideration of Management and current Residents directly prior to a desired residency start date...and intend to reside at Kulana for a minimum of 6 additional months.

• As racial and other types of diversity are valued--along with our priority of maintaining a sacred, harmonious home--we take these factors into account when selecting new Residents.

•  Resident responsibility at Kulana increases to two Care Projects a week per adult, plus general upkeep and a weekly meeting with Management (along with other Kulana participants, as appropriate).

• Residents continue to contribute to Household Purchases as their turn comes up (see "What To Know & Bring" section of this website.) A reasonable amount of usage is included in our standard $12.50/week/Visitor-$50/month/Resident contribution towards electricity.

(NOTE: as we value a hands-on community spirit in those who live here full-time, there is no additional-payment "opting out" of Care Projects or Household Purchases for Residents.)

• Pets negotiable; must get along with those already here! For info regarding current Animal Quarantine process: 808-837-8092.

•  All who spend time at our unique home agree to be 100% responsible for their own safety and the safety of their belongings. 

• As we are an experience in shared "community" and artistic retreat rather than a straight-forward rental of private dwellings, all approved Kulana Residents are welcome to stay on a month-to-month residency basis as long as Kulana Guidelines are adhered to and, in the opinion of Management, a good, harmonious community "fit" is consistently maintained.
