I think it'll come as no surprise to anyone that the time we've all been saying is coming--that time of planetary CHANGE & a time of humans needing to shift & evolve--is now here! As one friend recently said (with more enthusiasm than many of us have been feeling lately): "This is the time I came here for!!!!"

And as I replied:"Hang on to your hat!"

Here at our little haven on Pele's island we've been in regular prayer for the plants & animals, for countries & individuals, for All...knowing that it's important to focus on the good that IS present & unfolding, since that's where we want our energy added to...and knowing that it's important to continue moving forward on our path of integrity & purpose (or to get more "the heaven" on it, if we aren't already!)

We're currently in the process of reevaluating what we mean & intend from the idea of "higher community..." and this has led to us morphing away from what can sometimes seem to be too much rhetoric about "evolving consciousness" towards tangibly, practically choosing to connect with people who are already living in ways that leave gentler footprints on the planet (and on other humans).

This has included a process of shapeshifting away from being a 'sanctuary' or 'retreat' (which can imply 'escape' or 'endangered'!) and moving towards becoming more of a sacred mystery 'home'/living laboratory experience for short & longer-term creative & spiritual 'kin.'

Our shapeshifting may eventually involve a move to a new location (many of you know the roller coaster we experienced regarding this possibility recently!)...or it may involve a kaleidoscope re-shaping right here where we already are...&/or it may involved Cristina, the Founder, connecting with just the right financial/operational partner so she is freed up to manifest her next set of world-visions/dreams...but in any case, we have renamed our vision: Kulananuenue (pronounced Kulana-newy-newy), which is taking the idea of living the Hawaiian kulana principal of 'joy from within' to the next vibrational stage of living larger, grander JOY--from within & without! :)

Still sweet, simple, rustic, cooperative, womyn-centric, racially & otherwise diverse...still drama-free & as contribution-friendly as we can make it... but also moving away from the constructs of tourism and landlord/tenant relationships, for example, and moving further into our focus as a sacred living social/spiritual Experience.

Think (on an intimate scale): the Waltons meet the Cosbys meet Glee...in Hawaii!

With l ots o' heartfelt conversations over collaborative projects & meals...on an island rich with magic...and folks often bursting into song. ;)

Our theme as we head into 2012:

It has certainly been a juggle, keeping up with creativity/work/spiritual pracitice & our Big Transformation with all the ups, downs & surprises that has entailed.

But the good news is: we're still HERE! :)

And in a day & age where "small business" endeavors are closing right & left due to "death by a million cuts" (i.e the cost of everything --gas, electricity, all the various taxes, etc.--keeps going up)...while we have, thus far, not raised our prices in years.

Sustaining someplace sacred in the jungles of Pele's volcano, especially during these economically volcanic times, has been quite a labor of love...but sharing the journey with kindred spirits is where the "love" part comes in...& it's what has made all the adventures of this road-less-traveled worth living. :)

So, thank you everyone who has supported the Vision & our reality through the years. :)

And thank you Connor from Cuba for the idea of having a "donations" link so folks who aren't able to participate in-person can still contribute to our existence (so we'll continue to be around whenever they're ready & able to come!)
